Extraction of organic compounds from waste

Biomass is used in industry in a wide variety of products and processes, especially in food processing. The residues and wastes from these processes contain interesting valuable substances and ingredients such as organic acids, amino acids or sugars. In the IER module, the technical and economic potential for the recovery and utilization of organic components from residual and waste materials from biomass-processing industry and commerce will be determined and utilization concepts developed. An example of an integral approach for a promising biorefinery and renewable energy concept for the further development of industrial biomass utilization in Baden-Württemberg will be developed and concrete examples will be given.
